Book your Appointment through SystmOnline
SystmOnline is available to ALL our registered patients. Once registered, you can book your appointment(s) online.
You must register in person at the surgery where you will be issued with a username and password. Please bring photo identification with you.
If you're already registered, click the orange Sign in button below to book your appointment(s).
Telephone: 01536 518886
All attendances at the surgery are by appointment. To make an appointment ask at the reception desk, telephone 01536 518886 or use our online facility via the link at the top of this page.
To use our online facilities please register in person at the surgery where you will be issued with a user name and password. Please bring photo identification with you. Registration is a one off process and applies to those aged 18 and over.
Please make a separate appointment for each patient. Appointments are booked at 10-minute intervals but we realise that some problems may take longer than others. If the surgery does not run strictly to time, please be patient.
If you need to book an appointment in advance due to work commitments, arrangements for transport, or a follow up appointment that has been requested by a clinician please advise the receptionist who will arrange your appointment accordingly.
If you have a preference to see a specific GP please advise the receptionists who will arrange this for you.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please cancel it in good time so that we can offer it to someone else.
A doctor or nurse will always see genuine urgent cases but you may be asked to wait, so please be patient. During urgent consultations we will not be able to discuss other 'non-urgent' problems.
If you feel you need a longer appointment please advise reception on booking who can arrange a double appointment.
Appointments can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance
When making any appointment you may be asked the nature of the problem. This is to help us signpost you to the most appropriate available clinician

Text Messaging Service
We have introduced a text messaging service which allows us to send text messages to confirm and remind patients of their appointments.
Telephone: 01536 518886
Both doctors and nurses are happy to give advice on the telephone but are not usually available to speak to you on demand. The doctor or nurse will ring you back when they are not consulting with patients. This ring-back cannot be guaranteed for a particular time.
Please note: All calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
Patients or clinicians may ask for a chaperone for any procedure or examination for which they consider it appropriate.
Please ask for a chaperone at the time of booking your appointment wherever possible.
Headlands Surgery will always try to give the best possible care to our patients.
For patients who are not fluent in English we can arrange the services of a translator or use British Sign Language.
Arriving Late Procedure
If you are 10 or more minutes late, then you will not be able to be seen in that appointment slot. All Health Care Professionals work to booked appointment times and if that time has passed they are not able to get it back. This means if you are too late for your appointment you will have to either wait until the end of the surgery or book another appointment.
Please Note: The traffic and parking around the surgery can be difficult. Please leave plenty of time to arrive for your appointment and for parking as difficulty to park is not a valid reason for a late patient to be seen.
It is the patient's responsibility to cancel unwanted appointments. Failure to do so means loss of the appointment for another patient. Persistent non-attendance of appointments will be investigated and may result in de-registration.
